Once upon a time, in a galaxy far far away, there were machines called typewriters.

I had a Brother word processor that had a CRT screen and a built in daisy wheel printer. Hey, it was better than a typewriter.

Not a computer. Nor is it a type writer. That’s a word processor.

I was thinking of it as some sort of computer-typewriter hybrid, but cool, I learned a thing

Had no idea what a daisy wheel printer was, just googled that. Weird.

How long ago were these a thing? I remember them in the 80s-90s, but they were far too expensive for normal people to get if they could get by with a typewriter (I suffered through the latter because my parents were not buying a dot matrix printer for my Commodore).

Yes it's a word processor, I've been told. Seemed along the lines of the old computer things going on lately, hence the previous title

They are still a thing.

I can't fathom why when computers can be purchased for so little now...

The dealership here uses them for filling out titles and similar stuff
